Living for 40 some odd years, I lived somewhat of a sheltered existence. Never knew what an addict was and how society looks down on them. Why? I realize that people have the moral tendancies of no acknowleding that stigmatism.
Addiction is something we all have in one way or another. Drugs, alcohol, sex and many other vices. But the main thing is drugs… Heroin, crack and crystal meth are in today’s society. People try to hide tthis shit but nonetheless, it will always come to surface.
Doing this service in Fall River, I talk to these people who painstakingly go to these clinics religiously to help them get better and try to overcome that glass ceiling and literally touch the sun.
NEVER, LET ANYONE SAY YOU ARE NOT HUMANF YOU ARE AN ADDICT. A REAL HUMAN ADMITS FAULT AND IS WILLING TO GO BEYOND HUMAN LIMITATIONS TO BETTER THEMSELVES….
WELL WORKING IN FALL RIVER IS A BIT DIFFERENT THAN WORKING IN PROVIDENCE. THERE IS ACTUALLY VERY LITTLE TO DO IN THIS TOWN. YOU SEE THE OCCASIONAL UGLY STREET WALKER COME UP TO YOU AND ASK FOR A SMOKE AND A DATE. I LOOK AT THEIR TEETH AND SEE HOW ROTTED THEY ARE AND ITS TIME TO SAY THAT, “I’M GAY!” ITS A GREAT PLOY, TOTALLY DISSAUDES THE UGLY HOOKERS IN SOLICITATING SEX. YUCK!
THE CREW IS NICE, EXCEPT THIS OLD TIMER THEY CALL ‘WABBIT’, BECAUSE HE TALKS LIKE ELMER FUDD. I AM NOT MAKING A JOKE OF IT BUT, HE TALK LIKE HIM. HE IS KIND OF STAND OFFISH. I REALLY DON’T CARE BUT, I HAVE TO MAKE LOTS OF MONEY SO I CAN SURVIVE.
Right now I am waiting to hear about a licence I applied for! I really hate the waiting game. It makes me feel like I am standing on pins and needles waiting for them to say “You are okay to drive” or “You suck, try again motherfucker!”
Nonetheless, I applied. I did get approval from the City Police Chief, which is a plus in my book! In this State, meaning the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I have no bad driving record or criminal violations. I am a totally different person here. I like that!
Let it be known, I have a feeling that I am going to get approved by the city! I do miss working as a driver. Shuttling people around for groceries, laundry and other inconsequential things. It makes my life a little easier! I know the money is a plus, but it makes my life a little happier when I am helping others….
ON A LINER NOTE: THE CITY OF FALL RIVER IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS ACCEPTS JOSEPH A.R. VASTA AS A TAXICAB DRIVER IN ITS LITTLE CITY!!!!
